LUTSEN

MINNESOTA. It was minus 10F outside, but I felt warm and well by the fireplace and a bottle of Australian Cabernet in the afternoons. When nobody came to talk I read "The Emperor of All Maladies". I read it from beginning to end. It might seem a depressing book but it was part of my peace in the North.
Most of the mornings we skied down the slopes. This was part of my peace too, the freezing air and below, the golden Lake Superior under the spell of the winter sun.

Hacía 20 bajo 0 fuera, pero yo me sentía cálido y bien junto a la chimenea y una botella de Cabernet australiano por las tardes. Si nadie bajaba a estar hablando leía "El Emperador de todas las Enfermedades" (The Emperor of All Maladies).

  1. Hello:
This all sounds a most convivial way to spend a winter's day and night. It is such bliss to be snuggled in the warm, wrapped around a good book with a glass of something decent to hand whilst winter rages outdoors. Stay warm and enjoy!

  3. Wow! I'm so impressed. Not just with your reading material but by your appreciation of Lake Superior and our "north country". Cheers Pet! I wish I could share a bottle of Australian Cabernet with you and we could discuss books and the spell of the Great Lakes under the winter sun. Thank you.

  4. It sounds like you have a very good time! Escaped from the endless GRAY in the South-West of France :)

Enjoy skying, reading, good bottles of wine and - keep warm!
