BRIDESHEAD REVISITED

FILMS. The story is beautiful, the setting is beautiful. Though the 1945 book by Evelyn Waugh is somehow drier than the magnificent, emotional 1981 BBC Series, one of my favorites of all times.
The latest movie (2008) is good too. Britain ruled in deed, a hundred years ago!

  2. Hello:
Evelyn Waugh is one of our all-time favourite novelists. We love the book and absolutely adored both Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews in the BBC production. The 2008 film did not work as well for us. However, it all represents an England that, in all its eccentricities, still exists but is becoming an endangered species.
