FORMENTERA REVISITED

FORMENTERA. When we started to vacation with them in Formentera, R and IN (W and A's children) were small kids, who taught J and N to swim, N barely walking, and would listen to my paid classes (I paid them to listen) on Philosophy.
The text book was Consolations of Philosophy, by Alain de Botton. I used to prepare a small resumé of each chapter every day - The Stoics, Epicurus and so on - and explain it to them under the shadow of a tree, with the blue sea below.
This year R will come later, with a friend, only for a week, after InterRailing Europe for a month. Well, not exactly like listening about Seneca under a tree :-)

Cuando empezamos a ir de vacaciones con ellos a Formentera, R e IN (los hijos de W y A) eran unos niños pequeños, que enseñaron a J y N a nadar, N casi ni andaba, y escuchaban mis clases de pago (yo les pagaba por escuchar) de filosofía.
El libro de texto era Consolations of Philosophy, de Alain de Botton. Solía preparar un pequeño resumen de cada capítulo todos los días - Los Estóicos, Epicuro y así - y se los explicaba bajo la sombra de un árbol, con el mar debajo.
Este año R llegará más tarde, con un amigo, solo por una semana, después de haber recorrido Europa con InterRail un mes. Bueno, no exáctamente lo mismo que escuchar hablar de Seneca debajo de un árbol :-)
