DONAUTIPS

BIKING. If someone of the readers of this periodical is going to bike down the Donau, here are some tips from our journey:

1.Feldkirchen. Worth stopping around if only for the  Marillenknödel at Wögerer's Wirsthaus. The best ones of our trip. A delicious dessert of two big Marillenknödels for 3.90€. It made our dinner! The bike road from the town to the swimming lake was really nice too.
2.Gasthof Böhm at Persenbeug.  Enjoy the "nature"  unfiltered beer under the tree. Better even than advertised. Tasty dish of roasted mushrooms, potatoes and carrots. Nice rooms too with a terrace and flowers.
3.Wachau wines. We stayed at the Lehensteiner's at Weissenkirchen. Front rooms looked really nice although we got the back ones. They made their own wine, as most of the "houses" in town. In the picture W and A posing for this review.
4.Middle of nowhere. Just to recommend something in the middle of nowhere, we had a wonderful dinner - and beer - at a very small town out of the main route, at Tiefenbök's Restaurant in Tiefenfucha. We walked there from Oberfucha - also in the middle of nowhere - under the stars. Couldn't get a better beer in Vienna.
5.Favorite in Vienna, as mentioned in the previous Post, was the Judenplatz. Also nice the Plachuttas Restaurant, by the Opera, for a noisier night. We did like the bars and terraces along the Shubertring but didn't sit in any.
Note: Having biked for a few hours before probably had a positive influence in the above mentioned perceptions :-)

Si alguno de los lectores de este blog va a hacer el Donau en bicicleta, aquí tiene algunos tips de nuestro viaje:

1.Feldkirchen. Merece la pena pararse en sus alrededores aunque solo sea por el Marillenknödel en Wögerers Wirsthaus. Los mejores del viaje. Un delicioso postre de 2 Marillenködels gigantes por 3.90€. Vaya cena! El camino en bicicleta del pueblo al lago a nadar era muy bonito también.
2.Gasthof Böhm en Persenbeug. De disfrutar la cerveza sin flitrar "nature"  bajo el árbol. Mejor aún que en el anuncio. Sabroso plato de setas, patatas y zanahorias asadas. Agradables habitaciones también con terraza y flores.
3.Vinos de Wachau. Nosotros nos hospedamos en casa Lehensteiner en Weissenkirchen. Las habitaciones que daban al frente eran realmente agradables pero nos dieron las de atrás. Hacen su propio vino, como la mayoría de las "casas" del pueblo. En la foto W y A posando para este reportaje.
4.En mitad de ninguna parte. Por recomedar algo en mitad de ninguna parte, cenamos magníficamente - la cerveza también excelente - en un pequeño pueblo fuera de la ruta principal, en el restaurante Tiefenbök en Tiefenfucha. Fuimos andando desde Oberfucha - también en mitad de la nada - bajo las estrellas. No encontramos mejor cerveza en Viena.
5.Favorito en Viena, como se ha mencionado en el último Post, fue la Judenplatz. También resultó agradable el restaurante Plachuttas, junto a la Opera, para una noche más animada. Nos gustaron los bares y terrazas a lo largo de la Shubertring pero no nos sentamos en ninguno.  
Nota: Haber pedaleado antes durante algunas horas probablemente haya tenido una influencia positiva en las percepciones mencionadas arriba :-)
