LA ERMITA

FOOD. In Spain people like a lot to eat outside. But, for a summer lunch in Granada, I would recommend this cool, high ceiling  "Ermita", and a freshly made salmorejo - a creamy cool tomato soup.
Paco, in the picture, invited me to this, his favorite place in Granada, on my last visit in June. Thanks.

Gracias.

  3. Hi Pet,

This restaurant looks so cosy. I could imagine spending all day there drinking wine, eating and chatting. Is that meat hanging from the ceiling?
Your blog is moving Spain firmly up my travel list:)

  9. Oh yes—very inviting! Is "creamy" the difference between salmorejo and gazpacho?

  11. Alexa. I've found this easy recipe for you:

Yes, it is "creamier", the creaminess coming from blended tomatoes, oil and bread. When in Andalusia I live on that!

  13. I ate outside last night, with a plate of lasagna and salad perched on my lap. A full-bodied red by my side. With friends...
